The weather at that day was not exactly the weather for field trips or outdoor activities – it was windy, cloudy and rainy. At first, I thought that the atmosphere of this excursion would be dampened and it would have been less interesting and funny. Nevertheless, the result of this excursion had turned out to be better than I thought. It is mainly due to the direct and active participation of the students, my fellows and of course, me, and the help of the HC staff and the AJ Hackett staff. I am grateful for all of us creating an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. To highlight this experience, I will talk about the skywalk and the sport climbing in due course.
Actually, I consider myself as a frequent visitor to Macao Tower comparing to my fellow classmates. I have been to Macao Tower 2 or 3 times this year excluding this excursion for watching film or sightseeing at Floor 58 and 61. Yet, I have never tried those extreme sports although I have been longing for those for a long time. This excursion gave me an opportunity and I found out that the feeling is different from just roaming inside the tower and “skywalking” outside the tower. It seems more real and relaxed and closer to the nature for me during the skywalk. During that half an hour, I felt free and liberated. Also, it seems like my troubles and worries were lifted up. I did not need to do anything except cherishing the moment I had. It’s superb! Furthermore, Macao is actually a beautiful place. Even though I only caught a few glimpses of Macao at that day owing to the weather, I could still find its blurred landscaped adorable. It’s a different kind of beauty and appreciation. Thus, I really think that we should spend more time to enjoy and protect the beautiful place we have.
The next thing I want to talk about is the sport climbing. It is not the first time I have tried that. It is my second time – I had tried it once at the sport arena at UMAC. These 2 tries ended up with the same result – I could not climb to the top and ring the bell. Nonetheless, I did not feel bad for myself; instead, I felt good. I thought I was improved as I climbed much higher this time. If you compare my result to my other classmates’ result, mine may seem a little bit lame. However, it is meaningless to compare with others, right? Somebody can climb to the top at the first try; someone may do it within ten tries; some people may need a hundred times. The point is everyone is different and unique, and everyone has his or her own pace, strength and weakness. What we need to do is to try our best and have no regret. Hence, I am proud of myself as I have tried my best. I don’t know how many times I need to climb to the top and ring the bell but I have faith in myself. Even though I may not reach the top in my whole life, I still have claps from people, who love and support me, and respect from them and … me. Then I really don’t have any regret.
That’s all I want to say. Catch up with you later. Happy New Year!
